Volunteer as a Telephone Counsellor

If you live in the Auckland region and want to make a difference in your community why not consider becoming a volunteer telephone counsellor with Lifeline Auckland?

You will need to be prepared to work hard at learning new counselling skills and be interested in your own personal growth. You will also need to be prepared to make a firm commitment to Lifeline Auckland.

No specific educational qualifications are required, however an attitude of acceptance, compassion and sensitivity are essential. 

Lifeline Auckland provides comprehensive volunteer training and ongoing support and supervision.

Volunteer telephone counsellors work on both the Lifeline 24/7 and Chinese Lifeline services.

Applicants may choose to work towards a nationally recognised NZQA telephone counselling qualification or an internally assessed Community Stream qualification.
