2009 Kidsline Poster Competition

The 2009 competition is currently well underway and more than 400,000 entry forms have been distributed to primary and intermediate schools across the country. 
This mammoth task was achieved thanks to the volunteer efforts of the Kidsline Buddies (pictured) who carefully packed more than 2,400 parcels which were then delivered free of charge by NZ Couriers.

The Kidsline poster competition is an annual event and an important opportunity for children to think about the reasons why they might call the service as well as to reflect upon Kidsline’s motto “it helps to talk – he pai ake te korero”.

The winning artwork in each of the 2 age groups “Up to 10” and “11-14” will form the basis of Kidsline’s posters which will be used to inform and educate children about the service in 2010. The posters will be distributed to thousands of schools and community organisations nationwide.

This year’s competition runs throughout school Term 2 (closing on 3rd July) and the prizes include an ASG Education Scholarship valued at up to $12,853 for the “Up to 10” category winner and an ASG educational multimedia pack including an HP Pavilion Notebook computer with software, a printer and vouchers to a total package value of $3,000 for the “11-14” category winner. Both winners also receive a Nintendo DSi and a Nestlé winner’s pack.

There are also more than 50 iPods and other prizes for the highly commended and commended participants.

Counselling Awareness Week

Counselling awareness week is a multi agency event which runs from 17th to 22nd May and aims to promote understanding about what counselling is, and what it can achieve, as well as to publicise the benefits and acceptability of counselling as a sensible and desirable way to deal with problems in all kinds of relationships.
