The New Zealand Crime and Safety Survey

The Ministry of Justice has advised us that the New Zealand Crime and Safety Survey 2009 is now underway. The survey asks people how safe they feel within their community, if they have been the victim of any crime in the past year, and if so, what the effects were. It also asks about any contact people had with Police or support agencies as a result of being a victim of crime.

Between February and June this year, about 5,400 people throughout New Zealand will be interviewed for the Ministry of Justice survey. The survey aims to better understand crime and how it affects victims, families and different communities.
